Drawproof reads the top-level comments through the YouTube API and leaves out the channel's own comments.
Set your rules
Only count comments posted before your deadline, or only comments with a keyword like #giveaway.
One entry or one per comment
Count each commenter once, or turn on repeat entries so every comment is a chance. Nobody can win twice.
Lock, draw, share
The list is timestamped, public randomness picks the winners, and you pin the proof link in your comments.
Why viewers trust it more than a spinning wheel.
Most comment pickers show an animation and a name. Nothing stops anyone from running them again until a friend wins. Drawproof fixes the order of events instead.
| Feature | Typical comment picker | Drawproof |
|---|---|---|
| Reads the comments for you | Yes | Yes, and the proof page says the list came straight from YouTube |
| Deadline and keyword filters | Often | Yes, written into the locked rules |
| Every comment can count as an entry | Sometimes | Yes, each pick weighted by comments, and nobody wins twice |
| The list is sealed before the pick | No | Yes, timestamped by two independent authorities |
| Viewers can re-check the result | No | Yes, in their browser, from the proof link |
| A re-roll is visible | No | Yes. A list drawn twice is flagged on both proof pages |
Questions
Do I need to connect my YouTube account?
No. Drawproof reads public and unlisted videos through the YouTube API, so there is nothing to log in to or install.
Which comments are counted?
Top-level comments on the video, without replies. The channel's own comments are left out, and you can add a deadline and a keyword. Each commenter counts once unless you turn on repeat entries.
How many comments can it handle?
One import reads several thousand comments, typically 5,000 to 10,000. For bigger videos, export the comments with another tool and upload the CSV; a draw takes up to 25,000 different entrants.
What do my viewers see?
A proof page with the winners, the video the list came from, the rules, two independent timestamps and the public randomness round. Anyone can type their name to check their comment was in the draw, and re-run the whole draw in their browser.
Is it free?
Yes, every feature is free during the beta.
